Volunteers have the opportunity to participate in a nesting survey on Flatback Sea Turtles between November 23 and December 8.
Peak Island, off the Central Queensland Coast is one of the largest nesting populations of the turtle in Queensland.
The island is national park and access is restricted to management or scientific research.
Accommodation is isolated bush camping, food and camping gear is supplied.
DEHP will provide training under the Qld Turtle Conservation Program, equipment and transport to Peak Island.
Volunteers need to arrange travel to Gladstone or Rockhampton and need to bring a sleeping bag or sheets, drink bottle, long pants/shirts, hat, warm jacket and torch.
Places in the survey are limited.
