Australia: Cause of turtle death unknown 8 Jan 2014

Visitors from Sydney Ed and Nerida Slee were walking on the beach on Friday morning (January 3) when they saw the dead sea turtle bobbing in the waves.

Mr Slee and a beach lifeguard managed to get the turtle's carcase on to the sand so it would not attract sharks to the popular beach.

The Slees have been holidaying in the Camden Haven since 1972, Ed said, and he hopes the turtle, which had tags, is not the one known to frequent Googlys Lagoon.
