India: Coast Guard post inspected 17 Jan 2008
Jagatsinghpur, India — Inspector General, eastern region coast guard, Mr Rajendra Singh, inspected the operational and administrative effectiveness of the coast guard post at Paradip on Tuesday. 

Commandant, coast guard, Paradip, Mr Vikrant Pershar appraised the IG about operation Olivia-2008, launched by the coast guard to protect the endangered Olive Ridley sea turtles. 

Mr Singh indicated that the coast guard operations in Orissa would expand and an office will be set up at Gopalpur soon. He lauded the efforts of the unit at Paradip and mentioned about the Indian Coast Guard Annual Diving Camp-08, held recently at Ramchandi near Konark, in which 20 divers, a hovercraft, a helicopter, an advanced patrol vessel and a fast patrol vessel of Coast Guard had participated.
