Welcome to the IOSEA Marine Turtle MoU Projects Database.
This facility provides information on marine turtle conservation projects throughout the Indian Ocean and South-East Asia. At present, the database includes details of more than 130 projects in about 30 countries, most of them IOSEA Signatory States.
The database is especially intended to showcase the activities of non-governmental organisations (or the NGOs themselves, if their work is focused primarily on marine turtle conservation), as well as specialised programmes of government agencies, international initiatives sponsored by multilateral donors etc. While the IOSEA region is the primary focus of the database, entries from the Pacific region will also be included, as they arise.
We hope that users will take full advantage of this informative resource, and assist in the maintenance of the database -- by periodically updating existing entries and by supplying details of new projects from around the Indian Ocean - South-East Asia region.
The function of the IOSEA Projects Database depends on two components, as follows:
The Projects Database Viewer allows a user to examine all of the projects in the database with great flexibility. Projects can be sorted by Country, Name, and Starting Date. (The function to sort by 'Date of last update' is temporarily disabled) .
The database can also be searched manually. A list of suggested keywords is provided for this purpose. The search results can be downloaded to an MS-Excel spreadsheet, for further manipulation or printing.
Depending on the users' preference, a three-line project summary can be switched on or off within the viewer, in order to make the display more readable.
The Editor allows users to submit information on a particular project, for the first time. The information will be transmitted to the IOSEA MoU Secretariat for follow-up with the author and any necessary editing, in order to assure consistency. Please read these instructions before getting started.
